AQUAMARINE

Aquamarine is a variety of beryl, like emerald.

Aquamarine is a transparent mineral, with a beautiful light blue color that evokes sea water. It acts on the throat chakra, Vishuddha in Sanskrit.

It's a fine stone , formerly semi-precious stone but this designation is prohibited from a commercial point of view.

Aquamarine can be purified with pure water as well as with salt water .

You can also purify it with pure salt, but it's best to use the indirect purification method .

Purification in a salt water bath requires leaving the stone for about 2 to 3 hours in its bath.


To purify your aquamarine in a pure water bath , you must soak your stone in water for 4 to 5 hours .


Aquamarine recharges in sunlight : you can leave your stone for 2 to 3 hours in a room bathed in light.

Avoid long exposure to direct sunlight.

You can also recharge your aquamarine on a cluster of rock crystal .

Recharging on rock crystal takes about 1 hour and can be done day or night.

Aquamarine is a soothing stone, with gentle, long-lasting and restful vibrations .

Light blue stones can be classified into two categories: passive light blue and active light blue. Aquamarine is an active light blue , so it is particularly effective for working on expression and exteriorization .

Aquamarine is also a stone of sensitivity : it helps you develop a beneficial and fearless sensitivity. This ability makes it an excellent stimulus for creative expression , whether literary or artistic .

History & traditions

Aquamarine takes its name from the Latin aqua marina , sea water, because its color is reminiscent of the Mediterranean.

It was widely used by sailors as a talisman of luck and protection. In Celticism, Aquamarine represents the original matrix of life.

The Romans used it in jewelry, they wore aquamarine jewelry to soothe seasickness.

In the Middle Ages, aquamarine was used for medical purposes: it was worn in necklaces against toothache. It was also used to fight against poisons.

In China it was used to make figurines and seals, while in Turkey it was used to make the hilts of daggers.
