Regarding the traditions linked to this stone, they should be taken with caution since sodalite has long been confused with lapis lazuli and dumortierite.

In Greek and Celtic traditions, sodalite is the stone of prophecies and prophets.

In the Christian tradition, this stone is rather the symbol of insight.

In black Africa, it is a stone of protection and in China and Japan it represents the return of social order.
